ECO-UNESCO (Clubs), as a GAP Key Partner, promotes youth empowerment and youth action for sustainable development. One of our GAP commitments is within our Young Environmentalist Awards (YEA) programme.

The YEA is an all-Ireland environmental awards programme that recognises and rewards young people who raise environmental awareness and improve the environment. The YEA programme is open to any group of young people in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland from 10 - 18 years of age.

The YEA 2016 Showcase and Awards Ceremony will take place on 18th May 2016 at The Mansion House in Dublin, Ireland. All finalists will showcase their work at the Ceremony where the Overall, Category and Special Award winners will be announced. The best 80 shortlisted projects will be displayed to over 700 young people, teachers, youth leaders and members of the public.

The Awards Ceremony will be attended by high profile guests, which in previous years have included Presidents Michael D. Higgins and Mary Robinson, Government Ministers Alan Kelly and Seán Sherlock, numerous Lord Mayors of Dublin, media personalities as well as UNESCO Dignitaries Qunli Han and Patrick Mc Keever.
