The sustainable use and planning of geothermal resources

The theme of the 2014 World Water Development Report (WWDR) is Water and Energy, nicely harmonized with the World Water Day theme. Consequently, the World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP) is organizing a series of seminars focused on water and energy and on the inter-linkages between these domains.
The first meeting organized within this famework was entitled 'The sustainable use and planning of geothermal recourses'. It was organized by WWAP in collaboration with the Umbrian Region. The conference took place on 22 October 2013 on the WWAP premises and aimed to gather representatives from the research community, the private sector, local governments and universities, to explore and discuss the appropriate and sustainable use of geothermal resources through environmentally friendly technologies.
