World Education Forum 2015 - 19-22 May 2015, Incheon, Republic of Korea
At the World Education Forum (WEF) UNESCO will be leading the way, in collaboration with six co-conveners, UNDP, UNFPA, UNHCR, UNICEF, UN Women, and the World Bank, to build a powerful new education agenda that will transform lives. The target date for reaching the two sets of goals set by world leaders relating to education (Education for All goals and the Millennium Development Goals) is 2015 and governments are now preparing the new education agenda.
WEF 2015 objectives:
- Take stock of achievements and shortfalls in the implementation of the Education for All (EFA) and the education-related Millennium Development Goals during the period 2000-2015.
- Reflect on the education goal and targets in the post-2015 development agenda, which will be adopted by UN Member States at a Summit in September 2015
- Agree on a comprehensive Framework for Action to guide and support the implementation of the future education agenda.
