This week, young participants from the 9th UNESCO Youth Forum have been hard at work at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, presenting the final recommended actions from the Forum.
For the first time ever, the recommendations were presented at the Plenary Session of UNESCO's General Conference, by young participants from Liberia, Haiti and East Timor. Participants will also present the recommendations at each Commission held by the UNESCO Sectors throughout the General Conference, before going on to present them at COP21, the Conference of Youth (CoY) and the Commonwealth Conference of Youth.
The 9th UNESCO Youth Forum – Young Global Citizens for a Sustainable Planet – took place in Paris, France on the 26th to the 28th October 2015. The forum brought together over 500 young women and men from all over the world to focus on issues related to Climate Change and the post-2015 Sustainable Development agenda to ensure that the voices of future generations remain front and centre of the new development agenda.
Discussions focused on how young people, committing themselves as global citizens, can contribute to the creation of a sustainable planet.
