The UN Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force and UNESCO join forces to promote a culture of peace in Burkina Faso

The UN Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force (CTITF) and UNESCO have joined forces to promote a culture of peace in Burkina Faso. As part of the initiative for integrated capacity building assistance against terrorism (UN I-ACT), the Joint CTITF-UNESCO project on "Promoting a culture of peace, conflict management, citizenship, democracy and good governance through formal education in Burkina Faso" was approved and will benefit from funding provided by the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT), totaling 285.000 US dollars. The project will be officially launched on 25 September 2014 in Ouagadougou, in the margins of the International Day of Peace (21 September), celebrated this year under the theme: "The right of peoples to peace."
