The Brazilian Press Association (ABI) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will celebrate together the World Press Freedom Day at the ABI headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. The event, which will take place on 4 May 2015, was agreed at a conference in Mexico by the President of the ABI Deliberative Council, Joseti Marques.
The Brazilian Press Association and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will celebrate together the World Press Freedom Day at the ABI headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. The event, which will take plance on 4 May 2015, was agreed at a conference in Mexico by the President of the ABI Deliberative Council, Joseti Marques, who is also Ombudsman General of Brazilian Communications Company (EBC). For the President of ABI, Domingos Meirelles, this partnership seal the international recognition of the role of ABI in Brazilian current socio-political scenario. For the Vice President of ABI and President of the Committee on Defence of Freedom of Press and Human Rights , Paulo Jeronimo de Sousa, this joint celebration will be a milestone in the fight against all forms of intolerance and discrimination.
