This workshop, taking place 13-17 October 2014 (tentative) in Kota Tua, Jakarta. aims to strengthen the preparation of nomination dossiers in Indonesia and it is organized within the framework of UNESCO's project entitled "Old City, New Vision: First phase project for the revitalization of Kota Tua, Jakarta through sustainable tourism and heritage conservation".
Based on the Suwon Action Plan, one of the clear priority issues and recommended actions is capacity development in nomination dossier preparation and Tentative Lists. As a follow up, a sub-regional workshop for the ‘Preparation of Nomination Dossier for World Heritage Inscription and the Development of Management Plan’ was organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and UNESCO in Bali, 2012.

As a follow up to this workshop, and to strengthen the preparation of nomination dossiers in Indonesia as part of the internal review of tentative lists the Indonesian government is currently planning, the Ministry of Education and Culture and UNESCO is planning to hold a workshop entitled ‘Nomination Process for the World Heritage Inscription and Preparation of Tentative Lists’ in 2014.

The workshop itself will take place from 13-17 October 2014 in Kota Tua, Jakarta. It will invite all those who are involved in developing World Heritage nominations for properties as well as for the preparation of Tentative Lists in Indonesia, and it is expected to increase participants' knowledge, understanding and skills in the nomination process.

This event is co-organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC) and UNESCO Office Jakarta within the framework of UNESCO's project entitled "Old City, New Vision: First phase project for the revitalization of Kota Tua, Jakarta through sustainable tourism and heritage conservation"
