Workshop on Bioethics for Journalists
A regional Workshop on Bioethics for Journalists will be held from 7 to 9 October 2014 in Bogota (Colombia). The workshop is organized by the Regional Programme for Bioethics in Latin America and the Caribbean of UNESCO's Office in Montevideo (Uruguay) in coordination with Universidad El Bosque.
The activity seeks to strengthen the fundamental role of health and science journalists in the promotion of public debate on vital issues for citizens such as ethical problems surrounding the begining and the end of life, research related to human beings, emerging technologies and their effect in current and future life. Environmental and social problems will also be studied.
It is a unique opportunity for training and exchange addressed to journalists and communications professionals, that will gather outstanding international bioethics experts around key bioethics subjects from a Human Rights approach.
Communication media and institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean are invited to support the participation of health and science journalists and faculty.
