NGOs are key partners of UNESCO in advocating for the right to education and for the achievement of the Education for All (EFA) goals. The event will focus on two major initiatives through which UNESCO and civil society cooperate within the framework of EFA: the Collective Consultation of NGOs on EFA (CCNGO/EFA) and the Civil Society Education Fund (CSEF).
The CCNGO/EFA is UNESCO’s mechanism for dialogue, reflection and partnerships with NGOs in the framework of the EFA movement. With more than 250 national, regional and international member organisations, the CCNGO/EFA has significantly contributed to the debate on the post-2015 education agenda, to EFA advocacy and to defending the right to education globally.

The CSEF is a US$ 14.5 million extrabudgetary project that supports civil society engagement in education sector policy, planning and monitoring. UNESCO plays a central role as Supervising Entity in this project which is implemented by the Global Campaign for Education and funded by the Global Partnership for Education.

The event is organised by the EFA Global Partnerships Team.
