Uganda: Training on Guidelines for ICT Management and Sustainability for Teacher Training Institutes
UNESCO will support the training on Guidelines for ICT Management and Sustainability for Teacher Training Institutes in Uganda. This event aims at equipping participants with knowledge and skills to improve quality of education through integration of ICT as a pedagogical tool in addressing the teaching and learning. Participants will be drawn from Kyambogo University, Nakawa Vocational Training Institute, and Shimoni Core Primary Teacher College in Uganda.
At the end of the workshop, the participants will able to understand the global and national context of ICT in teacher education; identify areas of ICT application in the process of teaching and learning; gain knowledge on the planning for ICT Needs in teacher training institutions; and acquire knowledge on ICT asset management, disposal, and monitoring & evaluation.
The ICT guidelines for Management and Sustainability were developed under UNESCO CFIT project to streamline the sustainability of ICT resources in teacher training institutions. The Uganda Government has benefited from the UNESCO CFIT project to strengthen three key Teacher Training Institutions (TTIs) namely Kyambogo University, Nakawa Vocational Training Institute, and Shimoni Core Primary Teacher College. These training has therefore been organized to train select participants from the aforementioned Teacher Training Institutions.
