Training workshop on “Culture for Development Indicators” (CDIS)
The CDIS training workshop (19-20 October 2016) is organized for the first time in the region by UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office together with Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs (KazFUCA) within the framework of the UN Joint Programme “Expanding the opportunities of the Mangystau region in achieving sustainable development and socio-economic modernization”.
The Culture for development indicators were developed by UNESCO for combining the cultural sector with human development activity. UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office, together with the KazFUCA, translated the CDIS Methodology Manual and Toolkit into Russian. Previously, the publications were available in English and French only.
The training workshop aims to transmit detailed information on the UNESCO CDIS project and the tools used for its implementation, the Methodology Manual and Toolkit. It will share project goals, ways of achieving them, and usage and usefulness of the results. Additionally, it will present project implementation worldwide.
The workshop will be an opportunity for reinforcing cooperation between all the participants (trainees), who are directly and indirectly involved in the field of culture, as well as those who contribute to or benefit from it. Emphasis will be also given to enhancing cooperation on the protection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions, both at the national and regional levels.
