Training on Strengthening Media and Communication Skills of Women County Assembly Members and leaders
UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa will support African Woman and Child Feature Service to carry out a workshop on Strengthening media and communication skills of 15 Women County Assembly Members and leaders in Kisumu County, Kenya. This workshop aims at empowering the participants to attain media and communication skills that will enable them function effectively in their day to day work in and outside the county assemblies.
This training is based on the UNESCO “Getting The Balance Right: Gender Equality In Journalism Handbook” and also part of UNESCO’s ongoing initiatives of building capacity of women and enhancing pluralistic media, including by adoption of gender-sensitive policies. This activity will contribute to making the county governments more gender responsive and transparent.
