UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa supported Sauti Ya Maendeleo Resource Centre to carry out a training of journalists on news desks on work with correspondent’s network and Information and Communication Technologies in Asembo Bay, Kisumu. 15 community radio broadcasters and practitioners working in community radio stations in the region will participate in the training.
The event will also enable journalist to share knowledge and their various experiences thus help define common strategies on how to increase the social impact of the radio programs in this key thematic area of the SIDA project implemented by UNESCO in Kenya.

This activity is part of UNESCO’s on-going capacity building initiative funded by SIDA in its project “Empowering Local Radio with ICTs" in the region.
