As agreed in Buenos Aires, OREALC/UNESCO Santiago is organizing a meeting on April 6 and 7, 2017 with a technical group of representatives of Latin American and Caribbean countries and education partners to work on the drafting of roadmap for the implementation of SDG 4 – Education 2030. It will establish direction, key initiatives and a timeline specific to the context and priorities of the region, presenting short-term actions and milestones between 2017 and 2019 and suggesting policies and strategies to be undertaken at the regional and national levels both by countries and partners. The roadmap will then be shared with countries in the region for further consultation and subsequent approval.

The meeting of the Regional Ministers of Education in Latin America and the Caribbean, which took place on January 24 and 25 in Buenos Aires, produced the Buenos Aires Declaration. Now, with a shared vision in place, it is crucial to continue the work for the achievement of the Education 2030 Agenda in the LAC region. Successful regional implementation of the Agenda for education will require rapid and coordinated actions of all stakeholders.
