Study on Policies and Practices on TVET Teachers and Instructors in the Arab Region: validation workshop
Ten countries in the Arab Region namely Algeria, Kingdom of Bahrain, Egypt, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Lebanon, Kingdom of Morocco, Sultanate of Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Tunisia have completed a Study of Policies and Practices on Technical and vocational education and training teachers and instructors in the Arab Region. The study is a joint initiative of the Member States, the International Task Force on Teachers for Education for All, the UNESCO Section for TVET, the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for TVET in Bonn, Germany, and the UNESCO Regional Bureau in Beirut.
The purpose of the validation workshop is to share and disseminate the outcomes of the study and the good practices. It will also explore collaborative actions in response to challenges.
Around 40 participants are expected, including a ministry official and an expert from each of the 10 participating countries, international experts on teachers and TVET and specialists from UNESCO, UNEVOC and the Task Force. The opening ceremony on 3 October will be chaired by the UNESCO Assistant-Director General for Education in the presence of Ambassadors and Permanent Delegates to UNESCO of the participating countries and of the Task Force Steering Committee members.
