Second Meeting of the UN Secretary-General’s Scientific Advisory Board
The second meeting of the SAB will be held at UNESCO’s Headquarters in Paris on 10 and 11 December 2014.
The main objective of the meeting is to define the Board’s future programme of work in close linkage with major 2015 UN events and processes, such as the post-2015 development agenda, the HLPF, the UN Global Sustainable Development Report, the UNFCCC COP 21, technology transfer facilitation mechanism, etc.
Other related objectives include:
• review of proposals made during 2014 and progress report on the work streams agreed upon at the first session (30-31 January 2014, Berlin, Germany) ;
• contribution by the SAB to the preparation and further negotiations for the post-2015 development agenda;
• definition of collaborative initiatives with other international science-related bodies, e.g. SDSN, Future Earth, as well as EU and African Union; and
• future SAB programme and methods of work.
