Second International Conference “With All and for the Good of All”
The conference aims to stimulate and systematize a debate around José Martí’s ideas to create a shared understanding of the need to develop policies which help to eradicate poverty, fight racism and discrimination, foster education and culture, and support ethical principles. the International UNESCO/José Martí Prize 2016 will be awarded during the Conference on 28 January 2016.
The event is co-organized by the José Martí Project of World Solidarity of UNESCO, an initiative launched by the Organization in 2003. Other co-organizers are the Office of the José Martí Programme, the Organization of Iberoamerican States (OEI), Fundación Cultura de Paz, Fundación de Ayuda y promoción de las Culturas Indígenas (FAPCI), and Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos (ICAP).
The main points on the agenda will be:
• Poverty eradication and fostering social inclusion in order to fight practices of exclusion and segregation by race, sex, religion and any other form of discrimination.
• Foster the capacities of education and culture to form human beings capable of developing fully as individuals in their relation with fellowmen.
• Promote a balance in the relation between societies and ecosystems.
• Affirm the importance of ethical principles.
The Conference will also include the celebration of a Youth Forum, a workshop on heroes and thinkers of America and a round table on the defense of humanity.
The discussions will be collected in digital format and shared with universities, libraries, non-governmental organizations, ministries of education, and associations of writers and artists from different countries.
