For World Philosophy Day 2016 and in celebration of the 2400th anniversary of Aristotle’s birth, there will be a roundtable debate on methods of teaching Aristotle and improvement of the teaching of Aristotle at both the high school and university levels.

The event will take place between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on 18 November 2016 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, in Room IV.

Acknowledging Aristotle’s unquestionable universal significance, 2016 has officially been proclaimed “Aristotle Anniversary Year” by the 38th session of the UNESCO General Conference (Paris, November 2015).

This initiative was launched by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Aristotle Studies in 2013 and realized with the collaboration of the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO.

The roundtable is organized by UNESCO in collaboration with the Hellenic Ministry of Education and the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO. It will focus on highlighting methods of teaching Aristotle, particularly in European secondary education, and how to take advantage of these methods to improve the teaching of Aristotle at both high school and university levels.
