Presentation on Safety of Journalists on World Radio Day

The half-day event being organized by the UNESCO Office in Kathmandu and ACORAB is a part of celebration of World Radio Day 2014 within the framework of the UNESCO/UNPFN project “Increasing the safety of journalists" (235NEP5001).
50 radio journalists, including from Eastern Hill and Central Terai districts, will participate in this event. UNESCO will provide them with presentations on the ‘UN Plan of Action on the Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity’ and the ‘Preliminary Findings of the Project on Overall Safety Situation of the Journalists in Nepal”. A sound clip on the importance of the safety of journalists will also be broadcasted via 200 community radio stations on and around World Radio Day.
