Place to B - Focus on the ocean
The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO and the Ocean and Climate Platform will join forces with media representatives at the Place to B event in Paris to bring forth the results of the Ocean and Climate Forum (3 December) and the Oceans Day at COP21 (4 December).
The main objective of this project is to create a momentum to build a new narrative on climate change. For this, the organizers of Place to B will mobilize narrators worldwide. During the COP21 bloggers, journalists, photographers, videographers, illustrators, designers, artists, and youtubers will gather at Saint Christopher’s Inn to discuss the messages related to climate change and COP21. Media representatives, students, and engaged citizens interested on the project are welcome to participate to the shared workspaces, workshops, interviews, briefings, and various other events that will take place during this occasion.
On 5 December, the ocean will be the focal point of the discussion under the theme “Focus on the Ocean”. IOC and the Ocean and Climate Platform will present an ocean and climate briefing to 800 bloggers who are invited to share their analysis and reflections on what they have witnessed during the COP21: the progress of the negotiations as well as the solutions proposed by various actors.
