UNESCO is partnering with the Abat Oliba CEU University (Barcelona, Spain) in a new research project on the progress and challenges of the peace agenda in the entities of the United Nations over the past 70 years.

The research is part of the International Decade for the Rapprochement of Cultures (2013-2022), for which UNESCO is lead agency, and will involve a number of research and stakeholder institutions in addition to consultations with key UN entities.

The Steering Committee behind the initiative meets for the first time in Barcelona from 30 to 31 March 2016 to launch the research and make decisions on a future joint publication.

This meeting will also be the occasion of a public roundtable at the Abat Oliba University, during which Members of the Steering Committee will debate with university students and civil society representatives on issues related to the UN Peace agenda.
