IFAP session on “ New Delhi from 2014 to 2017 : Making Empowerment a Reality – Accessibility for All” during the ICEGOV Conference which will take place from 7 to 9 March, 2017. This session will provide space for open consultations and encourage constructive dialogue on the theme of information accessibility, with a special focus on access to information and knowledge using accessible and inclusive Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for the inclusion of persons with disabilities.
This session will build on the outcomes of the recently held consultations and research findings to explore how concrete recommendations may be incorporated within IFAP’s priority on Information Accessibility- the usage of inclusive and accessible ICTs by persons with disabilities to access information and knowledge.

The session also aims to raise awareness about disability issues in a cross-disciplinary, cross-sectorial manner and draw attention to an urgent need to mainstream accessibility of ICTs for persons with disabilities in the post-2015 development agenda. Furthermore, the plenary session will build synergies and contribute to the ongoing discussions of the new IFAP strategy.
