National workshop to launch the Global Monitoring Report on Education, 2016 edition

When, local time:
Thursday, 13 April 2017 -
8:00am to 5:00pm
Where:
Gabon, Libreville
Type of Event:
Category 7-Seminar and Workshop

The workshop will enable participants to obtain relevant information on the SDG4 (Framework for Action 2030) and discuss implementation within the national context as well as the requirement for the development of A Sectoral Plan for Education.

In Gabon, key officials in the education system, particularly those directly involved in decision-making and policy, have knowledge of the GMR report. However, most of their collaborators are not aware of this document. Similarly, almost all the actors at the local level do not know this document and have never even read it. The Global Monitoring Report on Education has not been the subject of an official ceremony for three years in Gabon, so that the main targets are not informed (actors involved in educational policy-making, Teachers, teachers ...).

The national launching workshop for the 2016 World Education Monitoring Report has two main objectives:
- disseminate data from the Monitoring and Evaluation Report for better ownership of the recommendations and conclusions on SDD4 and the Education 2030 Framework for Action
- form the Local Education Partners Group following the adoption of the action plan for the diagnosis of the education sector and the preparation of a sectoral plan for education in Gabon produced at the EMIS evaluation by the Institute of Statistics.
