Meeting of the Approval Committee of the Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport
The Approval Committee of the Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport convenes twice annually to determine new applications. The next meeting will take place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 22 November 2016.
Committee members will review various anti-doping projects from all regions of the world. The meeting’s agenda will also include items on the Fund’s visibility and resources.
The Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport was set forth in Article 17 of the International Convention against Doping in Sport.
The Fund aims to help States Parties to meet their obligations under the Convention, by providing financial support to anti-doping initiatives (education, policy advice, capacity-building projects).
The Approval Committee for the 2016-2017 biennium comprises six States Parties representatives (Bahamas, China, Finland, Oman, the Russian Federation and South Africa) and a representative of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
