The Youth Media Perception Discussion papers consitute the result of a survey and a media coverage evaluation conducted in Jordan in 2015 and 2016, in the framework of the NET-MED Youth project. An official launch of the discussion papers will take place in Amman on 17 May 2017, preceded by a roundtable discussion among young journalists, media professionals and representatives of youth organizations to be held on 16 May 2017.
The Youth Media Perception Discussion papers, produced in the framework of the NET-MED Youth Project in Jordan, present the findings of a research carried out by a team of experienced national researchers who conducted a quantitative survey covering 1100 youth in various governorates in Jordan, as well as a complementary qualitative assessment of media coverage (based on monitoring the online content in daily newspapers, news websites and TV channels related to youth topics over a six-month period in 2015 and 2016; along with interviews with media actors and youth-focused organizations). The launch of the discussion papers will bring together, on 17 May 2017, media practitioners, government and civil society representatives, as well as representatives from the international community including UN agencies. During the event, main findings will be presented and the discussion papers will be disseminated.

A day before the launching event, on 16 May 2017, a round table discussion among 25 young journalists, media professionals and representatives of youth organizations will be held to encourage reflection and debate, in order to identify the possible utilization of the discussion papers' findings to enhance the representation of youth and their priorities in the media.
