Launch of the Education for All Global Monitoring Report 2015: presentation in Brazil
The 2015 Global Monitoring Report will be launched on the 9th of April 2015 at major events in New Delhi, Paris and New York. Special launch events are also planned in several cities in Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa. The Report will be presented in Brasilia (Brazil) during an event organized by UNESCO Brasilia Office.
The 2015 Global Monitoring Report, “Education For All 2000-2015: Achievements and Challenges” provides a comprehensive assessment of progress towards the six EFA goals set in Dakar at the World Education Forum. It takes stock of which countries did or did not make progress and whether stakeholders upheld their commitments. It discusses which factors influenced the pace of progress and identifies key lessons for shaping the post-2015 global education agenda. During the event in Brasilia, Nihan Blanchy-Koseleci, member of the EFA GMR team at UNESCO Headquarters (Paris), will present the international scenario of the EFA Report; Moritz Bilagher, from OREALC/UNESCO Santiago, will present the scenario of the EFA Report in Latin America and the Caribbean, and José Francisco Soares, President of INEP from the Ministry of Education, will present the EFA scenario in Brazil. In addition, there will be a round table on the challenges of EFA in Brazil post-2015 with the participation of Timothy D. Ireland, Professor at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) and Coordinator of UNESCO Chair in Adult Education; André Lázaro, Professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and at the Latin American College for Social Sciences; and Candido Alberto da Costa Gomes Professor at the Brasilia Catholic University (UCB).
