This international conference, held in San José, Costa Rica, from 26 to 27 February 2015, will focus on ethical behavior as a fundamental principal for the development of peace and human security. The main theme will be “Searching for a New Paradigm of Living Together: Central America-Asia-Pacific”. The event is organized by the Regional Unit for Social and Human Sciences in Asia and the Pacific (RUSHSAP) of the UNESCO Office in Bangkok in collaboration with the UNESCO Office in San José, the College of Arts and Sciences (Yunnan Normal University, China); and Ruamrudee International School (RIS, Thailand).

The main objective of the conference it is to look for a new paradigm based on ethical behavior, which will contribute to peace and human security. It is necessary to put an effort in improving our capacities as humans to sustain peace between countries and people.

Critical thinking will be developed around topics, such as
• global perspectives on ethics and development: trends, challenges and opportunities;
• social inclusion and vulnerable people; and
• the impact of ethics on the way people think and live.
