Global Action Week for Education 2016 Panel Discussion: “Financing for SDG4-Education 2030. Leaving no one behind : what will it take to narrow inequity gaps?”
Global Action Week for Education (GAWE) on Education is a worldwide annual campaign, organized by the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) to raise awareness on the importance of education and the commitments made by the international community to achieve the global education goal. Since the launch of GAWE, UNESCO actively supports the campaign by carrying out activities at global, regional and national levels and by mobilizing networks and encouraging Ministers of Education and all partners to take part in the campaign.
This year, the campaign will focus on the theme of “Financing for Education”, under the slogan “Fund the Future: Education Rights Now”. Within this scope, UNESCO, in collaboration with the GCE, organizes a panel entitled “SDG4-Education 2030: Leaving no one behind - what will it take to narrow inequity gaps?”
The event will bring together major actors in education financing (Global Partnership for Education, OECD, members of the Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity), academia (Overseas Development Institute) civil society (EI and GCE) and Member States to discuss the challenge of financing for Sustainable Development Goal 4, particularly through the lens of equity.
