Gabon is about to convene, during the second semester of this year, several electoral sessions (including presidential election). In order to promote peace and democracy through preservation of freedom of expression, the strengthening of journalists responsibility as well as the respect of human rights and journalist safety, some training seminars and workshops will be organized respectively for media professionals and security forces in four cities of the country. This project is an initiative of the Nations United System in Gabon and OIF, in partnership with the Government.
The training seminars for media professionals will focus on the mastering of information processing techniques, media organization and planning in electoral period, media role in the protection of human rights and peace promotion, journalist safety and also electoral crisis management. On the other hand, the training workshops for security forces will focus mainly on the safety of journalists and media professionals at large.

These events will be organized in four main cities in Gabon: Libreville (June 07-10, 2016), Port-Gentil (June 15 - 17, 2016), Franceville (June 22 - 24, 2016) and Oyem (June 28 - 30, 2016).
