Film Projection and Round Table: “Ice & Sky”
A round table with Claude Lorius, prominent French glaciologist, will take place at Cite Universitaire de Paris on the 2 December. The event will feature the projection of the movie Ice & Sky and is organized by the UNESCO International Hydrological Programme (IHP) and the Man and Biosphere Programme (MAB) in partnership with Wild-Touch. The event is organized in the framework of the Exhibition “Mountains: Early Warning Systems for Climate Change”, which will be open to visit at Cité Internationale Universitaire Paris from the 3 December.
Drilling down the Antarctic icefields in the 1950’s, Claude Lorius brought about a sweeping change in our vision of the world as they discovered the origins of climate change. Today, the latter offer new means for transforming man’s imprint on its environment.
With the film Ice & Sky, Wild-Touch and Luc Jacquet travel back to the genesis of collective intelligence and forge a bond between the past and present stakeholders and the general public. Stemming from such a promise, a dynamic will encourage each one of us to collaborate and respond to climate change, and address towards a sustainable future.
The event will be open to all interested participants and will take place at Cité Internationale Universitaire (Maison Internationale) Paris on 2 December at 19h00. Registration is mandatory.
The exhibition Mountains: Early Warning Systems for Climate Change is open to visit starting from the 3 to 28 December.
