Establishment of the ICT Competence Reference for Teachers in Djibouti
The UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (ICT-CFT) is a framework that emphasizes the skills teachers need to integrate information and communications technology (ICT) in their professional practice. This training organized by UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa will help Djibouti to establish a work plan to develop the relevant skills for teachers Djibouti.
ICT has been recognized by the Djibouti Government as a crucial tool in the development of the country and improving the living standard of the people. Teachers, being one of the changing agent in the society, must be equipped with the relevant ICT competencies in order to help learners acquire knowledge, being innovative, and bringing positive change in the society.
The objectives of this training are:
1. To align the initiatives of higher education in Djibouti with the UNESCO ICT-CFT;
2. To determine the priorities in ICT for Djiboutian teachers;
3. To establish a work plan to develop the relevant skills for Djiboutian teachers.
