Djibouti: Training of online facilitators on ICT in Education
UNESCO will facilitate a 2-day training workshop for online facilitators on ICT in education at the University of Djibouti in Djibouti. The workshop aims at building capacity of online facilitators on how to integrate UNESCO's ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (ICT-CFT) in ICT education in Djibouti. UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (ICT-CFT) has been used in multiple countries and covers six areas in three levels. This workshop will also look at how these areas can be contextualized to the needs of the teachers at the University of Djibouti.
UNESCO recognizes the potentials Open Educational Resources (OER) holds to widen access to education at all levels, both formal and non-formal in a perspective of lifelong learning, and to improve both cost-efficiency and quality of teaching and learning outcomes.
This activity is part of UNESCO’s continued efforts of promoting the application of ICTs to enhance the quality of and access to education, including the stimulation of production, sharing and access to open educational resources (OERs). After the adoption of the Paris OER Declaration in 2012 UNESCO, this activity is being implemented with the financial support of the Hewlett Foundation, in 3 countries (Indonesia, Kenya, Oman).
