Conference on Social and Ethical aspects of Women’s Health Care Issues in Upper Egypt
In celebration of the International Women’s Day, UNESCO Cairo Office will organize in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in Egypt, National Commission for UNESCO and universities a series of conferences to promote Bioethics and Rights of Women throughout the months of March and April 2016. On 10 April, a conference will be organized in cooperation with Beni Suef University and the American University of Beirut on Social and Ethical Aspects of Women’s Health Care Issues in Upper Egypt.
The conference will discuss ethical challenges of health care for women, informed consent issues, and bioethical education in medical schools. Bioethics experts and policy makers will give presentations.
This event is organized in support of the Bioethics Network for Women’s Issues in the Arab Region (BiNWIAR) that was initiated by the UNESCO Office in Cairo, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and eminent experts in the region in 2011.
The first conference in the series was held at Ain Shams University on 9 March 2016 and the second conference will take place at Al Azhar University on 9 April 2016.
