In the context of International Museum Day, a conference will be held on the illicit trafficking of cultural property in Latin America, given by Dr. Endere Luz, a specialist in this area. The event will take place at the Casa del Cuño in Antigua Aduana, on May 18, 2016 from 8:00am to 9:00am.
Latin America is a region heavily affected by illicit trafficking of cultural property and many stolen artefacts, which have irreversible consequences for the cultural heritage of the affected countries. This conference will allow participants to learn more about the measures that can be taken to combat trafficking and those who can afford to recover confiscated properties. After the conference, a discussion will be held with the participating officials, experts and people interested in this topic in Costa Rica.
