Celebrating World Arabic Language Day in Baghdad

World Arabic Language Day is to be observed at an event organized in the prestigious Sami Abdel Hameed Theatre located in the heart of the Al Mutanabi Street in Baghdad, in the presence of artists, intellectuals, linguists and representatives of many national and international institutions, including the Ministry of Culture the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) and UNESCO.
The celebration aims at highlighting the historical role of the Arabic language in research and the dissemination of knowledge, and the importance of multilingualism for the research community today. The celebration will also include a panel discussions on the intersections of the Arabic language with the sciences, poetry, calligraphy and other topics.
