Capacity development for Education for All: the CapEFA programme presentation
This side event organized during the General Conference will present the Capacity Development for Education for All (CapEFA) programme. A focus will be given to activities carried out in Bangladesh, presented by UNESCO Office in Dhaka.
The Capacity Development for Education for All (CapEFA) programme was created in 2003 to translate global advocacy into action. It focuses on countries most at risk of not achieving the EFA goals by 2015, providing capacity development in key areas of the education sector: sector-wide policies and planning, literacy, teachers, and technical and vocational education and training.
There are currently 31 country programmes, most of which are located in Sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, the Programme runs two sub-regional programmes, targeting the Arab and Pacific regions.
