Category 7-Seminar and Workshop

The purpose of this session is to raise participants' awareness of the importance of responding to calls for applications and equipping them with the necessary technical tools for a better understanding of the 2005 Conventions, the SDGs and to improve their skills in drawing up Applications.
The context
The General Assembly of the United Nations adopted in its September 2015 session the Agenda 2030 constituted of 17 Objectives of Sustainable Development - ODD. The process of developing the cooperation cycle between Gabon and the UN agencies in Gabon revealed insufficient knowledge of the SDGs in the administration and its civil society partners, particularly in the Culture and Arts sector .

Gabon very rarely responds to calls for applications regularly launched by the various UNESCO funds in the cultural sector: International Fund for Cultural Diversity - FIDC, Fund for the Promotion of Cultural Heritage or Participation Program. The 2017 calls for these two funds will soon be launched. Moreover, the preparation of the application files requires knowledge of the SDGs and consists in establishing links and contributions between the developed / submitted project and the achievement of the SDGs.

It therefore appears that capacity building on the form is insufficient if this is not addressed with the SDOs.
Hence the interest of this training session during which the two objects will be discussed.
