Bioethics workshop in the Supreme Court of Justice. The main objective is to sensitize and raise awareness among lawyers and judges of the Judiciary about the importance of the bioethical approach to social issues in Costa Rica. Cases decided by the Court will be analysed from the bioethical perspective, with emphasis on bioethical principles such as beneficence, justice, equity and vulnerability.

Organized with the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics at the Universidad Tecnica Nacional (UTN) and the French institute of Central America (IFAC). The main objective is to sensitize and raise awareness among lawyers and judges of the Judiciary about the importance of the bioethical approach to social issues in Costa Rica.

The workshop will begin with an introductory lecture on ethics and law. Following this, we will talk about the foundations of bioethics and the Universal Declaration of Bioethics and Human Rights (UDBHR). Subsequently, the analysis of cases from the perspective of bioethics will take place. The cases will be proposed by the participants in the workshop. The emphasis will be placed on the bioethical principles of the UDBHR such as beneficence, justice, equity and vulnerability.
