Bioethics training for educators
The regional seminar-workshop "Bioethics training for educators" will be held in Cordoba, Argentina, from 8 to 11 April 2015. It is organized by the Bioethics Programme of UNESCO for Latin America and the Caribbean, jointly with the Universidad Católica de Córdoba and the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba.
The seminar-workshop is intended for educators at the graduate and postgraduate level. Its goal will be to provide methodological tools in bioethics teaching (deliberation, problematisation, case studies, etc.) and to offer special strategies at different levels.
Introductory subjects will include the Human Rights approach to bioethics, and environmental and social issues in Latin America and the Caribbean.
It is a unique opportunity for training and for exchange among educators, and will gather outstanding international bioethicists around UNESCO's human rights-based approach to the subject.
Educational entities, universities, and organizations promoting bioethics training are invited to support their teaching staff participation. Free-lance teachers interested in the theme are also welcome to apply directly.
UNESCO will cover the cost of registration and material for a maximum of 30 selected teachers. The course will be in Spanish.
