Annual Meeting of UNESCO Honorary and Goodwill Ambassadors
The Annual Meeting of UNESCO Honorary and Goodwill Ambassadors Meeting 2016 will be focused on the presentations of the Sustainable Development Goals and UNESCO's contribution to its implementation, UNESCO’s work in support of the United Nations Action Plan to Prevent Violent Extremism, as well as the United Nations World Water Development Report (WWDR) 2016.
This Annual Meeting will start by the presentation of the Sustainable Development Goals and UNESCO’s contribution to its implementation by Mr Thomas Gass, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Policy Coordination and Inter-Agency Affairs in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs and Mr Jean-Yves Le Saux, Director of Division, Bureau of Strategic Planning of UNESCO.
During the afternoon session, the Honorary and Goodwill Ambassadors will be informed about the details of UNESCO’s work aiming to support the United Nations Action Plan to Prevent Violent Extremism. This presentation will be made by Ms Soo Hyang Choi, Director of the Division for Inclusion, Peace and Sustainable Development, Head of UNESCO’s Intersectoral Platform on preventing violent extremism.
Mr Stefan Uhlenbrook, Coordinator of the United Nations World Water Assessment Programme of the United Nations will be responsible for the presentation of the United Nations World Water Development Report (WWDR) 2016.
