This inception meeting of the project “Addressing Water Security: Climate Impacts and Adaptation responses in Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe”, organized by the International Hydrological Programme of UNESCO (UNESCO-IHP), will foster the discussion and the design project activities with potential partners.
The meeting will gather hydrologists, water resources experts, policymakers, IHP network, UN institutions and other stakeholders to share ideas and project insights to further develop mechanisms to identify potential collaboration among the participating experts and institutions.

The inception meeting aims at:
1) launching a discussion on a global knowledge forum on water security by building on already established networks, know-how and experiences,
2) developing partnership mechanism and projects, and
3) raising awareness on potential impact of climate change on water resources.

This inception meeting will contribute to the UNESCO-IHP-VIII Phase (2014-2021) entitled “Water Security: responses to local, regional and global challenges”.
