8th Annual Internet Governance Forum Meeting
The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is a forum for multi-stakeholder dialogue on public policy issues. UNESCO participates to defend the principles of openness, privacy and diversity, encompassing universal access, interoperability, freedom of expression, multilingualism, and local content. Since the early days of the Internet UNESCO has been working to ensure that the mechanisms of Internet governance respects and upholds those fundamental principles and promotes a universally accessible and multilingual Internet.
During this 8th Annual Meeting, UNESCO will organize sessions on:
• Encouraging Locally Relevant Content to Grow the Internet
• International domain name uptake
• Internet universality concept
• UNESCO Open Forum
