DESCRIPTION:The “World Humanities Conference. Challenges and Responsibiliti
 es for a Planet in Transition” will take place in Liège, Belgium, from 6
  to 12 August 2017.\n\n\nCo-organized by UNESCO, the International Counci
 l for Philosophy and Human Sciences (CIPSH), the “World Humanities Confer
 ence – Liège 2017 Foundation” and LiègeTogether, the conference will gath
 er participants from all over the world working in the fields of the human
 ities, the natural, social and formal sciences, politics, art and comm
 unication, as well as representatives of international, governmental and
  non-governmental organizations.\n\n\nIt will be structured around six mai
 n themes:\n\n\n• Humans and the environment;\n	• Cultural identities, cul
 tural diversity and intercultural relations;\n	• Cultural heritage;\n	• Bo
 undaries and migrations;\n	• History, memory and politics;\n	• The humani
 ties in a world in transition.\n\n\nThe Conference will strengthen the org
 anization of the humanities, notably in its interdisciplinary and transdi
 sciplinary dimensions, including all sciences. It will contribute to epis
 temological debate and convergence of scholarly and wider cultural approac
 hes, with a view to bridging the gap that often exists with the rest of s
 ociety and the design of research, education and territorial policies.\n
 \n\nIt will be preceded by a series of conferences and other academic even
 ts, engaging all continents.
