For the 6th consecutive year, UNESCO gives its patronage to the European Night of Museums and once more opens its doors in order to welcome the public at large for a unique cultural evening. The Organization this year gives the place of honor to the Dominican Republic, partner for the 2014 edition.
This year the public will be given the opportunity to discover the work of Dominican artists Jorge Pineda and Polibio Díaz. The visit will also be the occasion to discover the modern architecture of the Organization’s Headquarters as well as part of its Art Collection, including works by Appel, Calder, Chillida, Erró, Giacometti, Miró, Moore and Picasso.
A significant exhibition on the artwork of the Icelandic artist Erró, the first of a series to be presented under the theme “Around the Works of Art in the UNESCO Collection”, will be on and accessible during the Night of Museums.
Visits will take place from 8 pm until midnight (last admission) and will be given in French, English and Spanish. Entrance at 125 avenue de Suffren, Paris 7th (exit at 119 avenue de Suffren). Free entry, without reservation.
