Through Resolution XXIII-13, the IOC Assembly decided at its 23rd Session to create the Tsunami and Other Coastal Hazards Warning System for the Caribbean and Adjacent Regions (CARIBE-EWS) and to establish an Intergovernmental Coordination Group for it (ICG/CARIBE-EWS).
Participants to the 11th Session of the Intergovernmental Coordination Group will elect the officers of the CARIBE-EWS, namely one Chairperson and three Vice-chairpersons, for the next biennium. They will also present intersessional activities reports and working groups progress reports, discuss policy matters, establish the programme and budget of the next two sessions, and conclude with the adoption of decisions and recommendations.
