Law on the Foundation ‘Croatia House’
In September 2013 the Croatian Parliament passed the Law on the establishment of the Foundation "Hrvatska kuća" (Croatia House) with the aim to create an institution working on the promotion of Croatian culture abroad.
The establishment of the Foundation was oriented at strengthening of already present facilities of cultural attaches attached to Croatian embassies abroad. The Foundation is there to better coordinate the circulation of the Croatian cultural programmes abroad and to give support to Croatian artists and cultural workers in their attempts to present their work. The Foundation was established in 2014, and it opened its first call for proposals in June 2014.
In the period 2014-2016 the Foundation supported 264 programmes throughout Europe and globally, thus enabling better promotion of Croatian arts and culture.
According to the Annual Report of the Foundation for 2014 and the published results of the Call for programmes of the Foundation in 2014, the total funding approved for projects was 1 529 607KN (204.000EUR approx., while the funding for realised projects amounted to 1 425 452KN (190.060EUR approx.).
