Bilateral Cultural Cooperation Agreements
Ukraine uses the instrument of signing the bilateral cultural agreements with the aim and intention to strengthen cultural ties and to develop friendly relations between the peoples of two countries, to develop the cooperation in the field of culture and art, in this way promoting the mutual cultural rapprochement, increasing creative potential and creating the background for the exchange of knowledge on cultures of the countries, to raise awareness, particularly among youth, of the history and culture of the people of different countries, to promote the equal dignity of all people’s national cultures and their mutual enrichment while respecting the national identity, to support the aspirations of the artistic&creative community to the preservation and development of creative contacts and protect their social and professional interests
The Government of Ukraine and Ministry of Culture of Ukraine are the side of numerous cultural cooperation agreements with the countries from all over the World. During 2014-2017 Ukraine signed the cultural cooperation agreement on the Governmental level with the United Arab Emirates, on the Ministerial level – with the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Estonia, Republic of Cyprus, People’s Republic of China, Republic of Lithuania, Republic of Moldova, Czech Republic, Republic of Belarus. Besides, the Programme on Cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey in the Field of Culture entered into force in 2015. Agreement on Film Co-production and Cooperation between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the State of Israel was also signed in 2015.
