Short-term objectives of the project: 
1. To improve knowledge and skills of at least 50 young artists and artisans from the Republic of Moldova to present, promote and sell their art products by organizing for them five trainings with local and foreign experts and by establishing for them an annual National Conference of Artisans of the Republic of Moldova. 2. To bring art products of young Moldovan artists and artisans closer to their clients in the country and abroad by organizing a Design Festival of the Republic of Moldova “The Spirit of Moldova” and a Mobile Exhibition “The Spirit of Moldova” abroad.

Young artists and artisans from the Republic of Moldova will improve the quality of their lives by better presenting and selling their art products and by having a larger access to local and international market.

The project “Creative Moldova – Empowering the young artists” aims to help young artists from the Republic of Moldova to get closer to their clients within country and abroad. Within this project, we will implement four activities that will empower young artists, designers and artisans from the Republic of Moldova to improve their communication with their clients, will improve their skills to sell their art products and will establish a good channel for them to sell abroad. Besides promoting national culture and young artists, the project will help art to become profitable for young artists, designers and artisans of Moldova.

4.3 Local context and complementarity of the project with other regional, national and local policies/ measures/ programmes/ projects: 
Within this project, we propose ourselves to address the problems that encounter young artist, designer, artisans of the Republic of Moldova in their work. It is a complex situation, since being a young professional is always more challenging to find clients for your products. When you produce art, it is double difficult to find a buyer for your products. Moreover, it is even more difficult to do it on a small market like the Moldovan one. The population of the Republic of Moldova is only about 2 900 000 persons, but it is believed to be more closely to 1 500 000 – 1 700 000 persons since a large part of our population emigrates for work abroad. In addition, it is a pour population (especially at present, with the economic crisis and the big thievery that occurred in our country) and buying art products is not a priority. This situation is supported by the fact that artists are good at producing art, but have little knowledge and skills of marketing, communication with their clients and selling. With regard to this problem, within this project, we plan to work on two objectives. One is to empower young artists, designers, artisans of the Republic of Moldova to become better entrepreneurs and thus, to improve their ability to sell their products. Our second objective is to bring their art products closer to their clients, within the country as well as abroad.

Our project is in line with the Strategy Europe 2020 with its focus on economic growth. Since we aim to economically empower young artists, designers and artisans in Moldova. Our projects, is also, in line with the Republic of Moldova’s Strategy “Culture 2020” and specifically with its third general objective – to increase the economic contribution of the cultural sector and of the creative industries. In our country, this project will be the first of its kind. The Public Association “Ca Lumea”’s staff saw some similar activities implemented with great success in Poland during a study visit. We strongly believe that this approach (working to economically empower young artists and artisans and working to bring their art products closer to their clients in the country and abroad) will get us the aimed results.

Description: 
Within this project will be established a communication platform for artists, designers and artisans of the Republic of Moldova. The longer-term outcome will be a non-governmental organization of artists, designers and artisans of the Republic of Moldova and an annual National Conference of Artisans of the Republic of Moldova. We aim to set a healthy and productive environment for artists, designers and artisans of Moldova to communicate, share information and experience, support each other and improve their communication with their clients, thus improving the quality of their lives.

ACTIVITY 1.1
Description: 
National Conference of Artisans of the Republic of Moldova In May 2017, a National Conference of Artisans of the Republic of Moldova will be organized. The aim will be to make this activity an annual one. The activity will last one working day. It will be organized within premises of the National Theatre “Mihai Eminescu” from Chisinau City, Republic of Moldova (http://www.eminescu.md/). The concept, design and development strategy of the event will be realized by two Romanian experts. A staff member will be hired for a month to organize logistically the event. A journalist with experience in the field will be hired to host the event. At the Conference 250 participants will be invited from all over the Republic of Moldova. The Conference will have five speakers: three from Romania and two from Ukraine that will share some international success stories. At the conference will be shared some local success stories too. During Conference, two workshops and a research will be organized on branding, communication and difficulties and challenges in the field. Participants to the event will be artists, designers, artisans, painters, sculptors, industrial designers and students. Participants to the Conference will have the chance to communicate, to network, to exchange information and experience. They will be encouraged to create a National Association of Artists and Artisans of the Republic of Moldova.

Direct Beneficiaries: 
Direct beneficiaries of the activity will be 250 artists, designers, artisans, painters, sculptors, industrial designers and students from all over the Republic of Moldova. They will not be discriminated by gender. But, in our report we will indicate how many women and how many men out of these 250 participants were at the event.
Indirect Beneficaries: 
Indirect beneficiaries of the activity will be Public Authorities and specifically the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova that will be a step closer to implement their Strategy “Culture 2020”. Indirect beneficiaries of the activity will be the mass media that will be invited to speak about the event. Indirect beneficiaries will be the speakers of the event that will have the opportunity to participate to a national level event.

Description: 
Within this project, 150 young artists and artisans from the Republic of Moldova will improve their knowledge and skills that will empower them economically. They will be able to better present their products, better communicate with their clients, and better sell their art products. On the long run, this will help them become more economically efficient, it will improve the quality of their lives and it will make it attractive for them to stay in the country and not emigrate abroad.

ACTIVITY 2.1
Description: 
Economically empower young artists and artisans of the Republic of Modlova In order to help young artists and artisans of the Republic of Moldova to improve their entrepreneurship skills and economically empower them, Public Association “Ca Lumea” will organize five training for 30 beneficiaries (young artists and artisans from all over the country). Each training will last a working day. The trainings will be conducted by three experts from Romania and three experts from the Republic of Moldova. During these training, young artisans and artists will learn how to make a brand for their products, how better to present their products, how strategically to communicate with their clients, how to use social media to promote their products and how to sell on-line, they will know useful things about mass production and generally will improve their entrepreneurship skills. Each training will have a theoretical and an applied part. Also, the participants will have the opportunity to network and exchange information and experience.

Trainings will be organized within the Public Association “Ca Lumea”’s premises, in Chisinau City, Republic of Moldova. The activity’s beneficiaries will be young artists and artisans from all over the country.
Direct Beneficiaries: 
Direct beneficiaries of this activity will be 30 young artists, artisans, arts students from all over the country. While accepting them into the project they will not be discriminated by gender. But, based on experience, we expect to have more female beneficiaries then male beneficiaries. In our country, there are more female then male that work as artisans. For the report, we will present disaggregated by gender data on participants we had.
Indirect Beneficaries: 
Indirect beneficiaries of this activity will be the beneficiaries’ family members that will benefit from an increased income of the young artists and artisans. Indirect beneficiaries of the activity will be a larger number of clients that will be able to enjoy the art products because young artists and artisans were able to reach them. Also, state authorities will benefit of this activity since young artists and artisans will stay in country and contribute to the country’s economy instead of leaving our country for work abroad, which would be the case if they would not manage to make money in our country.

Description: 
Within this project, we will bring young artisans, designers and artists of the Republic of Moldova closer to their clients from the country. For this purpose, we will organize a Design Festival of the Republic of Moldova “The Spirit of Moldova”. We will aim for this event to become an annual one. This activity will help young artists and artisans to meet their clients, to find new clients, to communicate with them and sell their art products. It will help them to become economically more efficient and sustainable. In the long run, it will help young artists and artisans to know their clients, to respond better to their needs, to improve their communication with clients and, thus, sell better. It will help young artists and artisans to live out of their work and they will be able to live and work in our country and not leave for work abroad.

ACTIVITY 3.1
Description: 
Design Festival of the Republic of Moldova “The Spirit of Moldova” In order to bring young artisans, designers and artists of the Republic of Moldova closer to their clients we will organize a Design Festival of the Republic of Moldova “The Spirit of Moldova”. The Festival will last a day and we will organize it in August, when people have their vacations and have time for outdoors activities. The activity will be organized on the Doirdita pedestrian street in Chisinau City. Fifty young artists and artisans from all over the country will make an exhibition of their art works. They will be able to sell their art work during the event. From our experience, we expect about 10 000 people to visit the Festival. In order to make it more attractive for visitors, a concert will be organized with participation of local singers. Also, we will organize workshops for visitors and we will organize a contest for participants to the Festival (young artisans and artists). The contest will be about who showed better the spirit of Moldova. There will be three prizes for first three places of the contest. We will aim for this Festival to become an annual event in Moldova.

Description: 
Within this project, we will bring young artisans, designers and artists of the Republic of Moldova closer to their clients from abroad and especially, clients from Moldovan diasporas abroad. For this purpose, a Mobile Exhibition “The Spirit of Moldova” will be organized. Moldova diasporas from Bordeaux, New York and Montreal, as well as other clients that live in France, USA and Canada will learn about art work of 50 young artists and artisans from the Republic of Moldova and will be able to enjoy it. As well, 50 young artists and artisans from the Republic of Moldova will be able to find clients abroad, where people have a better buying power. Thus, they will be able to increase their income and will be able to make a living in the Republic of Moldova and they will not be wanting to leave the country for work abroad.

ACTIVITY 4.1
Description: 
Mobile Exhibition “The Spirit of Moldova” Best artwork exhibited during the Design Festival of the Republic of Moldova “The Spirit of Moldova” will be chosen to build a mobile exhibition. Two experts, one from Romania and one from the Republic of Moldova will be hired to make the exhibition’s concept, design and production. The exhibition will have 50 items (the best artwork chosen from each participant during the Design Festival of the Republic of Moldova “The Spirit of Moldova”). The exhibition will be organized in three cities abroad - Bordeaux, New York and Montreal. In each city, the exhibition will last a month. An exhibition supervisor will be hired to make sure that the mobile exhibition is duly organized and implemented in all three destinations (Bordeaux, New York and Montreal). We will work with local diasporas to find some premises for our exhibition free of charge within local exhibition rooms and/or museums. Alongside the art items, the young artists and artisans that created them will be presented there (his/her short biography and some pictures, videos). In each location the exhibition will have a special opening day, with exhibition presentation, some music, wine testing. At the opening day, local mass media will be invited.

Organization’s main activities: - organization of cultural events (fairs, festivals, etc.); - organization of cultural leisure and cognitive projects; - promotion and support of artisans; - strengthen Moldovan art field by implementing training, information and consultancy programs and activities.

Sustainability in projects should be considered in relation to ongoing results, effects and outcomes of the project. Sustainability is about:

  1. Building relationships on an on-going basis – through communication, building trust, reciprocity and showing commitment;
  2. Developing diverse funding sources – including grants, fees for services, volunteers, donations, active fundraising campaigns, etc.;
  3. Being flexible – capacity to accommodate change by incorporating on-going evaluation into project evaluation.
What measures/steps will you put in place to ensure that your project long-term objectives can be met? : 
In order to ensure that the project will achieve its long-term objective we will take some measures: 1. To become beneficiaries of this project we will carefully choose young artists and artisans that are able to produce high quality art products and the required quantity of them. Thus, making it more probable for them to have success in becoming economically sustainable. 2. We already started to work on a data base of artists, artisans, designers of the Republic of Moldova in order to facilitate work and communication with them. During the project implementation and afterwards, we will continue to work on it and improve it in order to improve our work and communication with artists and artisans of Moldova and help them to become more efficient in gaining money out of their art. The specific work with project beneficiaries after the project implementation we will describe below. 3. We will develop our communication and partnerships with Moldovan diasporas abroad in France, USA and Canada. We also, will make efforts to establish and develop communication and partnerships with other Moldovan diasporas in other location and countries in order to help young artists and artisans from the Republic of Moldova to sell abroad and improve their financial situation. 4. The activities we will start during this project implementation: the National Conference of Artisans of the Republic of Moldova and the Design Festival of the Republic of Moldova “The Spirit of Moldova” we will continue to implement as an annual event. Public Association “Ca Lumea” has a successful experience with organization and implementation of annual cultural events (see the “Lavender Fest”, “Ia Mania”, “Mai Dulce” and “Balul Brazilor de Creciun” on http://klumea.eu/). We have good experience in raising funds for these purposes from local businesses and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova through their grants program. Also, we will apply with other projects to donors. 5. At the National Conference of Artisans of the Republic of Moldova we will encourage local artists, artisans and designers to establish an Association of theirs and thus, to fortify a communication and information and experience exchange platform for them. We will continue to work on this idea after the project implementation will complete, thus helping them to support themselves and to become more efficient in making money out of their art. This activity will also help them to communicate better and more efficient with their clients and find new clients, as well as promote Moldovan art worldwide.
What measures/steps will you take to follow up with the beneficiaries of the project after its completion?: 
We will continue to work with project beneficiaries after the project finalization: 1. We will continue to build their skills in order to economically empower them; 2. As before this project start, after the project implementation we will continue to organize challenging situation for them, competitions, etc. in order to keep them interested in showing performance in their work; 3. We will support and help project beneficiaries that will want to apply to some projects or competitions after the project implementation; 4. We will create for our beneficiaries a data base with information on international contests and financial programs that they can apply to.

Project financial management will be performed by Project Manager and the project Accountant. The project accountant has a diploma of high education on bookkeeping. She has seven years of experience in the field, including within non-governmental organizations and with projects implementation.
