Africa’s contemporary theatre scene is rapidly expanding, yet there is still much room for training in acting, drama writing, stage design and general management. Based in Burkina Faso, the Compagnie Théâtrale Falinga set itself up in 2002 with the ambition to create a unique space for artists-in-residence for theater professionals from the region to gain experience, skills and inspiration. Récréâtrales, an annual international theatre festival was born and this year, its 7th edition took place.
